Puss in Boots: The Last Wish after 11 years, we're back to Puss in Boots 2 fantasy world of the Shrek fairy tales but without the green-eyed ogre instead by way of Puss in Boots and his irresistible eyes. The first glimpse of the upcoming film has been released, Puss in Boots 2 The Last Wish, two and two-and-a-half minute trailers that outline the basic story and introduce the brand new cast members.
The ingredients for a new successful film are there in the movie, not least due to the stellar voice performance from Antonio Banderas and a truly outstanding cast, as the director, Joel Crawford, told us, who we spoke to exclusively to share our first thoughts about Puss in Boots 2 The Final Wish.
The film will release in the United States on September 23, 2022. The Italian date has yet to be decided, but the date is likely to be announced shortly. In the meantime, here's an interview we conducted with the director as well as at the bottom is the trailer for the film.
Joel Crawford, talking about two-and-a-half minutes of the film is not easy; however, in this instance, we are dealing with an entire cat's life accomplishing it.
It's true. The premise behind the film is that Puss in Boots is the one who has destroyed all of the nine times he lived and discovers that he has only one remaining. So he's determined to get the remaining eight lives back.
It is a hilarious story that serves as a pretext to show even children that each day should be treated like a day of celebration.
You've hit the nail on the head. I have three kids, and I always tell them that they should enjoy the wonderful things life has to offer them. However, there's also the regret of the adult as their lives become chaotic, and they cannot take a step back, look around and know what is important.
This is a fascinating aspect of the story because it begins with the idea that eight lives were destroyed and then contemplating what can make a life worth living. On the other hand, viewers will enjoy themselves and be transported back to the story of the fairy tales of Shrek However. They'll depart the theater with a few more lessons and the understanding that we are given only one life to live as a gift.
Movie director. What is it like getting access to this kind of saga, which has been so successful and has the possibility of presenting the audience with a new perspective? It was important to pay tribute to this series and the viewers who have adored it for years. However, there's an era of new audiences, as the final film from the collection was made 11 years ago. We were able to tell a brand new story inspired by the realm of fairy tales, which in this instance, also includes a touch of the western spaghetti genre. With renewed optimism, he embarks on a quest to defeat his desire to live nine more lives. However, he's not the only one wanting the ultimate desire... And most of all, he's not the only one on this journey. The tender, innocent and obstinate chihuahua Perrito came after him from the shelter and disguised himself as a cat to be received by Mama Luna. The disappearance of the map, protected by Big Jack, will unleash the various parties on the field. Jack himself, along with his crew of cooks, Curls, the bears' Cat, Perrito, and a brand new Kitty Velvet Paws, an outstanding burglar.
In the story of Puss in Boots 2, the main focus isn't just the fulfillment of the final wish but also on understanding the essence of happiness. For Gatto, it recognizes that his true desire is to live a life in a single, solitary story, perhaps just one, filled with friendship and love. For Riccioli, it knows that your family is there for you and will accept you, even if it's not what you expected. Big Jack is Big Jack... He doesn't have any problems to face, and he's the ultimate villain, and no Jiminy Cricket can be expected to wake up his conscience.
Joel Crawford's Puss in Boots 2 features the sophistication of a fairy tale that focuses on emotions (and on the large doe's eyes, which are unlined by the three main characters, Cat, Kitty, and Perrito) without ignoring other aspects. Paul Fisher's brilliant script is based on vibrant animation, and Heitor Pereira's enthralling Spanish-style music can make the audience dance in their seats. Again, DreamWorks hits the mark by igniting the imagination and shining the light on the heart.
